3 Tips to Starting Your Week Off Right

Is it Tuesday and you’re falling apart with your fitness plans already and the week has just begun??

I’ve got 3 tips for you that are going to help you stay on track during the week!

So once the week has started… it has started!

You need to actually prepare before the week starts so on Sunday night (cuz most people start their plans on Monday right 😉 you need to prepare yourself for the week ahead. Just like you probably tell your kids to get their backpacks and school supplies ready the night before…you need to do the same for your workouts.

How To Prepare For Your Week

#1 Get Your Outfits Ready

Now, whether you work out in your pajamas or  you have a full-blown fitness outfit that you like to wear, get them ready!

Everyday of the week, you want to have your outfits lined up and get those outfits ready the night before. Every night before I go to bed (before I take my shower cause after that I am in relax mode) I  lay out my fitness clothes I’m going to wear for the next day. Granted, I live in fitness clothes but I want to make sure I am ready for my workout. Make sure everything is ready. This includes your workout program, what you track your workout on, sneakers, keys for the car (if you drive to gym), after workout protein shake, food to eat on the way to your workout, etc.  

#2 Plan Out Your Food

If you’re food logging or eating intuitively it doesn’t matter you need to have some sort of a plan. Are you plannining on packing your lunch? Is there an office party today? Do I have time to find a healthy meal or is better I pre-make my food?

If you’re logging your food make sure it’s logged out ahead of time that way you will know what you are planning on eating. Eating intuitively – make sure you know roughly what you are eating so if Susie is having an office party tomorrow  you know that you need to accommodate for whatever calories you plan on eating or mentally prepare yourself before you go into that situation. Maybe you tell yourself  “okay I’m not going to have cake today but I’m going to have it this weekend” . 

#3 Schedule Your Workouts In

It’s very important to treat these workouts as high priority because your life DOES depend on it .

Treat your workouts like they are appointments. You wouldn’t miss an appointment with your boss, a client or a doctor’s appointment. Put them in in permanent marker or star them in your phone calendar. Make them stand out so you don’t miss them.Using your phone, you want to scheduled workouts in and use reminders. Most importantly is do the workout at that time you have scheduled.

Make sure you complete your workouts! This is the most important thing even if it’s the worst workout you have ever done! It’s better than not doing one at all.
